The game feature isn’t a new one by any stretch of the imagination, but important to note due to the sheer amount of gadgets and skills that Batman is sure to acquire throughout the game’s 25 hour long campaign. In case one play-through isn’t enough for you, your second time around could be quite a bit easier, but undoubtedly offer more choices in combat.

Coming out of PAX, Platform Nation managed to get a few juicy details concerning not only the inclusion of the game mode, but how some of Batman’s signature tools will be receiving a richer and more extensive upgrade system:

When taking all of Arkham City’s Challenge Modes, Riddler Challenges, and continued rumors of substantial DLC episodes, it seems that Bat-fans will be spoiled for choice when the game is finally released. If a player has infinitely more combat or stealth options the second time around, it stands to reason that even more time will be spent tactically analyzing a group of enemies. More choices is always a good thing, especially when you’re taking on the whole of the Gotham underworld.

The idea of replaying the campaign with all of your upgrades and skills is dependent on the campaign itself warranting a second go, so isn’t necessarily a winning feature in itself. But given Rocksteady’s last outing, we’re willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

What do you think of the inclusion of ‘Game+’ for Arkham City? Would you be willing to play through the ever-increasing campaign twice? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.

Batman: Arkham City will be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 18, 2011.
