This news prematurely surfaced during a discussion between Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy and ComicBooked.com. During the interview Conroy was asked what the future held in store for himself, and if he planned on revisiting The Batman or wanted to pursue some other voice acting gigs. His response was more than revealing, as he accidentally let slip that Batman: Arkham City would have new story-related episodic content available as downloadable content.
The only announced DLC for Arkham City were a few challenge maps, skins, and of course Robin, and even though more content has yet to be revealed, it’s pretty encouraging to hear that voice work has been — and still is — under way for future content. Downloadable add-ons for the game’s story seem like a brilliant move by Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive, and it will also give the fans a chance to both enjoy classic enemies like the Penguin, and potentially see villains that didn’t appear in the retail version of the game.
Details on the downloadable episodes for Batman: Arkham City will likely be made public after the game release on October 18th, but there’s still a chance that more news could come out of San Diego Comic-Con within the next few days.
