The game is still about a year away, but that hasn’t stopped Rocksteady from working rabid Bat-fans into a frenzy. Everything from screenshots to character speculation has been running rampant across the Internet ever since Batman: Arkham Asylum was officially green-lit for a sequel. Which, incidentally, was about five minutes after the game’s release, when everyone realized that Rocksteady had knocked it out of the park. Just like other pop-culture award shows with nominations and award categories bordering on the absurd (MTV, we’re looking at you), the Spike TV Video Game Awards have become little more than a place for celebrities to shill upcoming projects under the guise of “being hip with the kids and these game things....

While Electronic Arts is currently working with all the folks responsible for Steam in order to iron out a workable agreement, they have no plans to offer Battlefield 3 on Steam, at the moment. Obviously, gamers will be able to purchase PC copies of Battlefield 3 (the preferred platform for fans of the series) via EA’s Origin service, but forgoing Steam might hurt sales in some form or another....

The Battlefield series is known for its unique brand of tactical multiplayer combat, and Battlefield 3 will be continuing this tradition despite a large focus on making the single player campaign capable of competing with the Call of Duty franchise. Back to Karkand is meant to help bolster the multiplayer aspect of BF3 by providing gamers with 4 of Battlefield’s most popular past maps, redesigned with the powerful Frostbite 2....

According to DICE, there will actually be no beta bugs when the main game ships. Now that doesn’t mean players online won’t still encounter problems, they just wont be issues that plagued the beta test that took place a week or so ago. As they mentioned before, the beta test was a chance for DICE to stress test their servers and to iron out a few details that might have popped up here and there, not to perfect an inherently flawed product....

Steve Papoutsis, VP and GM at Visceral took to EA’s blog, The Beat, to discuss the overwhelming amount of beta participants and announce that the Battlefield Hardline beta will now end tonight, February 9th, Pacific Time. Previously, the beta was scheduled to end on Sunday, but the aforementioned player count warranted the change, which also gives players a little more time to mess around with the game and share feedback....

As show producers pledged when they started casting Rose’s replacement, they have hired someone from the LGBTQ+ community to play the lesbian superhero. In a statement, Leslie said: “I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show, which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community....

As APAC’s top representative for the Stage 1 Masters, PRX initiated their Masters run in the tournament’s playoffs. While an early defeat pushed them to the lower bracket, a victory over NA’s number 1 seed, The Guard, guaranteed their survival in the tournament. Upon meeting G2 Esports in the tournament’s Lower Round 2 matchup, Paper Rex managed to claim victory in a similar fashion. Both teams had their first outing in Split, where PRX overturned a 3-9 half to close out with a 13-10 scoreline....

Caitriona Balfe and Jamie Dornan portray Ma and Pa, respectively, and the actors spoke to Newsweek about the characters and the way they worked together on delivering the dramatic scenes they share. In the movie, there is one scene in which Ma and Pa argue with each other over the family’s finances and it escalates to the point where the matriarch starts throwing plates at the floor by her husband’s feet in anger....

Terrance, 47, has been put up for nomination alongside Alyssa Snider ahead of the September 8 eviction and, on the CBS show’s live feed, he was seen trying to convince Taylor to keep him in the game over Alyssa. However, Fox was not the man he said he was. His real name was Anthony Strangis and he was a convicted criminal and conman who had served time in prison for grand theft and impersonating a police officer. Despite knowing the truth about his real identity, Melngailis stayed with Strangis, and in December 2012, they tied the knot. Things did not end happily ever after for the couple and in 2016, they were both arrested on charges of fraud....

Unfortunately, this is nothing new in terms of game leaks, as big release titles tend to be high priority on torrent sites. Yet for Arkham City, it turns out that it’s a complete XGD3 leak, meaning that most Xbox 360’s would be able to play the game (if procured that is). It’s also worth mentioning that the leaked download is 7.94GB in size, shedding light on what the final install size may be....

This news prematurely surfaced during a discussion between Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy and ComicBooked.com. During the interview Conroy was asked what the future held in store for himself, and if he planned on revisiting The Batman or wanted to pursue some other voice acting gigs. His response was more than revealing, as he accidentally let slip that Batman: Arkham City would have new story-related episodic content available as downloadable content....

That’s not an oversight or a budget-mandated omission, either. Rocksteady didn’t want Batman: Arkham Knight to have multiplayer, at least not according to director Stefon Hill. “We knew we didn’t want to go down the route of creating a multiplayer experience,” Hill said. “We thought the player being in control of both characters was really interesting, rather than splitting it up into a co-op experience.” Hill’s referring to Batman: Arkham Knight’s Dual Play mode, in which players can switch between Batman and and one of his allies in the middle of a fight....

Hardline debuted to modest reviews last month, and like pretty much any AAA title released these days, it had a few technical hiccups along the way – including server issues and a DDoS attack against Xbox One users. Especially for multiplayer-heavy titles like Battlefield, however, success is as much a marathon as a sprint. Thankfully the folks at Visceral Games have been listening to player feedback. Valve’s Team Fortress 2 might have gone free-to-play yesterday, but Battlefield Heroes has been free since its inception, and this summer will introduce one of its more interesting, and possibly more enticing, updates the game has seen so far. If you have somehow failed to notice, this might be the biggest summer for superheroes ever in the entertainment industry.
